The Producers of Yanthram (Endhiran in Tamil), the Rajinikanth- Aishwarya Rai starrer directed by Shankar, are demanding astronomical figures for the Telugu rights of the movie.

Sun Pictures, the producers of ‘Endhiran – The Robo’, are demanding a huge sum of Rs.30 crores for the Telugu version ‘Yanthram’. A sky-rocketing amount that has not been demanded for any Telugu or dubbed movie before. The Rs.30 crores Telugu rights is only for Andhra Pradesh state and not for satellite, overseas or any other state rights. Touted as India’s most expensive movie ever, ‘Yanthram’ is made in a budget of Rs. 190 crores.

Top Telugu producer Bellamkonda Suresh offered a sum of Rs.20 crores but sources say the producers haven’t settled for it. Sources also informed that Venkat of RR Movie Makers settled at Rs.24 crores while Chadalavada Srinivas Rao also came close to a similar amount but Sun Pictures are hell-bent on their demand.

Reports in Telugu film circles suggest that Telugu producers are worried as one of Rajini’s previous movies had not been up to expectations. They don’t want a similar result for ‘Yanthram’. But at the same time this movie that has super tags like director Shankar, Superstar Rajinikanth, Oscar winner AR Rahman and beauty Aishwarya Rai attached, making Andhra audience hungry for the movie.
